TAYC Community Guidelines

Effective: 16 September 2026

TAYC exists to connect, equip, recognise and inspire the people who create, preserve and celebrate school memories across Africa. These guidelines help keep that community useful, professional and safe.

Be respectful and constructive

Engage people professionally across countries, cultures, schools and roles. Harassment, bullying, threats, hate, humiliation and discriminatory abuse are not acceptable.

Protect students and school communities

Never post confidential student records, private contact details, sensitive personal information or images/content you are not authorized to share. Follow your school’s safeguarding, photography, consent and privacy rules.

Respect ownership and attribution

Share only work you created or have permission to use. Credit creators and sources where appropriate. Do not copy yearbooks, photographs, templates or other protected material without authorization.

Share value, not spam

Relevant professional recommendations and opportunities are welcome when genuinely useful. Repetitive advertising, unsolicited mass promotion, deceptive links, recruitment spam and using member information to build unauthorized marketing lists are prohibited.

Keep recognition credible

Do not misrepresent qualifications, school affiliations, awards, membership status or another person’s work. TAYC may correct or withdraw recognition obtained through materially false information.

Moderation

TAYC may remove content, limit participation, suspend membership or take other proportionate action when these guidelines or the Terms are breached. Serious safeguarding, fraud or unlawful-content concerns may be escalated where appropriate.

Raise a concern

Use the Ask TAYC widget or email hello@tayc.me. Provide enough context for the concern to be reviewed without unnecessarily sharing sensitive information.
